Dear Kiddos,

You are growing up rather rapidly. I feel a sense of urgency to impart to you all I have learned and experienced in my 40+ years on this earth. I desire to teach you Truth, remind you of who you are, and speak into your lives and hearts for years to come, even long after I have gone from this world. We simply do not know what will happen on any given day, but we do know life can change in a moment’s notice. There is no time for delay. I’m ready to jump in and do what I’ve longed to do for many years.

I am a writer at heart, I love words, so naturally I gravitate to using this avenue to teach, share and impart all-the-things to each of you. It is here where I will write you personal letters and record myself reading those letters. I not only want you to be able to read my words, I want you to hear me speak them. I believe there is power in hearing a parent’s voice and I want you to have the opportunity to always hear mine.

Each post and podcast episode on “Dear Kiddos” will contain a letter addressed to one, some, or all you, followed by a song. Just as I sang songs to you at bedtime to close out the day when you were little, I will sing songs to you at the close of each podcast. These songs are ones I sang with and/or to you directly, or were favorites from my own childhood. As you know, I am not a professional singer by any stretch of the imagination, but I record myself singing simply for your memory’s sake. Please know I am full of absolute JOY as I sing each song for you.

After my Grandma passed away in 1999, I remember hearing a recording of her voice both in speaking and in singing. I cherished it. She sounded so young, full of life, vision and hope. I soaked in her words and singing like a treasure, because that’s exactly what it was to me, a treasure. I hope and pray “Dear Kiddos” is a treasure for each of you, as well, and possibly even for generations to come. A little legacy, not of my own, but God’s legacy of His work in and through me. I desire to share my heart and life through each letter and song, a personal gift, intentionally crafted and prepared just for you.

In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, this entire process is for you, dear kiddos. I write for you. I sing for you.
